Kang Sung Uck's sculptures are somewhat special. They are observable yet continually emerge from a process of constant transformation. His work reveals the process of different forms meeting and merging, transforming into each other. This fusion, though complete, soon seeks another combination, highlighted by the placement of objects at the extremities. Having majored in sculpture and developed an interest in the theme of transformation since his studies in Germany many years ago, the artist has always had a strong curiosity about objects and a desire to express various ideas, which led him to become deeply involved in conceptual art. As a sculptor, his foundation lies in his genre, but his desire for something unique led him to create works within the theme of transformation. His aim to express a broader range of forms manifests in the harmonious combination of objects, with minimal intervention from the artist. Like an unknown organic process, his work is built as a single structure, fluid and variable.

For him, sculpture is not merely the quantitative result of labor but the comprehensive result of art where meanings intersect. He seamlessly incorporates impressive experiences, whether as a traffic light, a hand lighting a fire, or the calligraphy on a pebble, using them as objects in his installations, leading to his current sculptures. Recently, the task of 'sculpting sculpture' has been presented to the artist. Although he has used computer graphic programs to make minimal appeals, he now showcases the process one step earlier through flat drawings. Figures expressing the dynamics of transformation are prevalent. The perspective of contemporary art on what and how to show is not irrelevant to him. Would art have emerged if reality had turned out as desired? At least within the realm of art, his choices, hoping to realize these desires, have led to the creation of intriguing three-dimensional works. In the current art scene, where accidental discoveries become inevitable, the scope of everyday life is thus infinite. In the process where the artist's perspective naturally emerges, objects continually receive new meanings. The three-dimensional pieces evoke certain associations at their extremities. Who would have imagined? In this world where a woman meets the silhouette of a castle and a butterfly accompanies a person, the current artistic realm comprehensively alters the content of sculpture. Although distinguished as this and that, these relationships cannot be easily defined, expanding into new meanings. This reiterates the increasingly pluralistic significance of the process in which human life is constructed.
