말로야 사태를 지켜보다가, 독일 말로야 본사에 이메일 보냈다가 답변을 받았는데, 그 이유가 참 가관입니다.
걔네들이 사용한 이유는 미국 카미카제 다운힐 대회에서 사용한 일장기를 썼다는 이유인데,
이 다운힐 홈페이지 가보시면.. 일장기를 대놓고 썼네요.. 또 항의 메일을 보냈습니다.

Maloja is saddened having been notified about the offensive nature of one of our designs as we had never intended to upset anyone with our products. Our roots are based in mountain biking and therefore we strive to incorporate aspects of mountain bike culture in our designs.
The inspiration for the jersey design stems from the early days of mountain biking. In the 80s and 90s the Kamikaze downhill race at Mammoth Mountain in California was the most important race of its time. The event proved to be the testing grounds for the worlds best and inspired mountain bike enthusiasts around the world. The designers of maloja were also inspired by the mountain bike race and incorporated this into the jersey design.
The race at Mammoth Mountain continues to take place in 2015. We have included links below for you to view. Our inspiration is purely based on mountain culture and is not politically based.

We recognize that although our intention was as always to be positive the interpretation of the design has been offensive to many. We recognize now that the event name is offensive and that we should have investigated further the historical use of the name and graphic in detail.
Maloja Korea has stated that the product was removed from sale over a week ago. We have removed the product from our homepage & listings, have stopped production and the product will not be produced at anytime in the future.
Your opinions help us to be a better company and to ensure we are producing products that align with the positive values we instill. We have learned very much from this process and will ensure we investigate name and design at greater depth in future times.
