Changwon City has announced that June will be designated as 'Travel Month,' during which various events and discounts will be provided for citizens and tourists.
First, visitors can enjoy discounted rates on the ‘Changwon City Tour Bus’ and the ‘Jinhae Jehwangsan Park Monorail.’
The ‘Changwon City Tour Bus’ is a double-decker bus that circulates ten major tourist attractions in Changwon. The open-top design of the second floor makes it a favorite among children. During ‘Travel Month,’ tickets will be discounted by 1,000 KRW, and route information can be found on the Changwon City Tour Bus website.
The ‘Jinhae Jehwangsan Park Monorail,’ located in Jehwangsan Park, offers panoramic views of Jinhae. It is a popular attraction, especially during the cherry blossom season, making it difficult to use due to the crowds. However, this June, as part of ‘Travel Month,’ children under 12 accompanied by an adult can ride for free.
Additionally, various events will be held to promote the attractions of Changwon. On May 25, there will be a ‘Small Concert’ at Jinhae Gyeonghwa Station, accompanied by face painting, balloon art by clowns, CPR training, and other side events. The first 250 attendees will receive gifts or city tour bus tickets by leaving supportive comments on the promotional video for Gyeonghwa Station.
Starting in June, the ‘Changwon City Mobile Stamp Tour’ will also be launched. This program rewards tourists who visit at least three of the 15 major tourist spots in Changwon with souvenirs through a lottery. Although Changwon citizens are typically excluded from participating due to election laws, everyone, including Changwon citizens, can join during ‘Travel Month.’
Ho Yong-in, Director of Changwon City’s Tourism Department, said, "We hope that the ‘Travel Month’ event will serve as an opportunity for many people to discover the beauty and charm of Changwon," adding, "We will continue to plan various programs to promote the tourism industry."

창원시는 6월 한 달을 ‘여행가는 달’로 지정하고, 시민들과 관광객들을 위한 이벤트와 할인 혜택을 제공한다고 밝혔다. 우선, 관광 체험시설인 ‘창원시티투어버스’와 ‘제황산공원모노레일카’를 할인된 요금으로 이용할 수 있다.
‘창원시티투어버스’는 창원의 주요 관광지 10개소를 순환하는 2층 버스로, 버스 2층이 오픈형으로 설계되어 있어 많은 어린이들의 사랑을 받고 있다.
‘여행가는 달’ 기간 동안 기존 이용 금액에서 1,000원 할인된 금액으로 이용할 수 있으며, 이용 노선은 창원시티투어버스 홈페이지에서 확인할 수 있다. ‘제황산공원모노레일카’는 진해의 풍경을 한눈에 내려다볼 수 있는 제황산 공원 내에 위치한 관광기반시설로, 벚꽃이 개화하는 시기에는 탑승객이 많아 이용이 쉽지 않다.
사람이 붐비지 않는 이번 6월에는 ‘여행가는 달’을 맞아 ‘성인을 동반한 12세 이하 어린이’를 대상으로 무료 탑승 혜택을 제공한다. 또한, 창원의 관광지를 조금 더 친숙하게 알리기 위한 다양한 이벤트도 진행된다.
오는 25일에는 진해 경화역에서 ‘작은 음악회’와 함께 페이스페인팅, 삐에로아저씨 풍선 만들기, 심폐소생술 체험 등 다양한 부대행사와 ‘현장 이벤트’가 열릴 예정이다.
현장 이벤트는 선착순 250명을 대상으로 진행되며, 경화역 홍보영상에 응원 댓글을 남기면 관광기념품 또는 시티투어 탑승권을 받을 수 있다. 6월부터는 ‘창원시 모바일 스탬프 투어’도 실시된다.
모바일 스탬프 투어는 창원의 주요 관광지 15개소 중 3개소 이상 방문한 관광객에게 추첨을 통해 기념품을 주는 사업으로, 공직선거법에 따라 창원시민은 참여할 수 없지만, 6월 ‘여행가는 달’ 기간에는 창원시민을 포함한 누구나 참여할 수 있다. 허용인 창원시 관광과장은 "이번 ‘여행가는 달’ 행사가 많은 분들에게 창원의 아름다움과 매력을 알리는 계기가 되길 바란다"며, "앞으로도 지속적으로 관광 산업 활성화를 위해 다양한 프로그램을 기획할 것"이라고 말했다.
